Partner: TouchPoint Software and Txt2Give

TouchPoint Software, Inc., an online church management system, today announced its live integration with Txt2Give, an SMS-based giving platform. As part of the integration, any church currently using TouchPoint can leverage Txt2Give’s services to offer its members a texting donation option.

A number of churches and other nonprofit organizations have turned to SMS-based giving as a way to make it even easier for constituents to donate. With the integration between TouchPoint and Txt2Give live, church members who give via text will have their donation data pushed directly to their contact record in TouchPoint.

“We’re excited about this partnership because the integration creates an additional channel through which people can donate to their church,” said Ross Miller, President of TouchPoint Software. “Many church leaders are concerned about cultivating generosity in younger generations, and this technology makes it extremely convenient for congregants of any age to help resource the mission of the church.”

“A lot of churchgoers -- especially younger ones -- don’t carry cash or checks with them. That makes it less likely they’ll contribute to an offering plate or box,” said Chad Boyd, founder of Txt2Give. “But people almost always have their phone with them.”

Boyd added that some of the churches already using the technology have seen a 25-30% lift in overall giving.

Text-based giving removes much of the friction that has traditionally hindered mobile giving. For example, many donors become frustrated with the user experience of forms hosted in a mobile web bitemser. With Txt2Give, the only time a donor encounters a mobile bitemser page is during the initial gift. After linking his or her device and payment information via a mobile-friendly form, any future donations take place solely within the phone’s messaging environment.

Individuals who are concerned about security will also be assured to know their credit card data is securely handled according to stringent PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards and is never directly stored with Txt2Give or TouchPoint.

“For churches looking to increase generosity from their congregants, the integration between TouchPoint and Txt2Give provides a really compelling case for offering members an SMS-based option,” said Miller. “As mobile technology plays a more prominent role in the church, we look forward to providing churches with more ways to leverage these tools for the Kingdom.”

Txt2Give is now available to any church that uses TouchPoint as its church management system.
