It's time to send out giving statements. If you are new to TouchPoint and have never done this before, read below for information about what to do. Later in this blog are a couple of announcements concerning new features for custom HTML statements.

Generating All Contribution Statements

TouchPoint makes it very easy to generate   all statements   at one time. Click   HERE   to read about Printing Contribution Statements.

Options for Contribution Statements

  • Minimum Contribution Amount
  • Printing Check Numbers and/or Notes
  • Printing Names without Titles

Click   HERE  and   HERE  to read about the various  Contribution Statement Options . It addresses all three of the options mentioned above and more.

Contribution Statement and Header

If you have not sent out statements before using TouchPoint, be sure that your Database Administrator for TouchPoint has set up the return address for your church  (Statement   Header ) and the statement blurb (Statement   Notice ). Click   HERE   for more information.

Deceased Donors

Most churches will have donors who have passed away during the year. Out of courtesy for the family, we do not automatically print a statement for them throughout the year. However, at year-end, you may need to print a statement for the estate. We have a help article to walk you through the process of generating these statements. Click   HERE   to read the help article.

HTML Statements

We made available HTML statements over a year ago. This provides flexibility and customization so that your statements have the design and content you want. You can read more about this in our help article on HTML Statements

If you are already using HTML statements, congratulations! If not, although we realize there may not be time to make the switch for this tax season, we encourage you to make plans soon. Working out-of-the-box templates are available, with the option for extensive customization. Later this year we will likely be discontinuing legacy statements and only offering HTML statements.

Include a Cover Letter

An example of the flexibility of HTML statements is the ability to include a cover letter with your statements. The letter can make use of handlebar codes (such as contributor name, statement period start and end dates, etc.) and can be printed along with its associated statement. Read more HERE.

Display Custom Notes

With the new giving platform, we introduced the ability for donors to add a custom note to their gift. If you want to display their custom notes on giving statements, you can do so on HTML statements using the handlebar code {{Notes}} in the contributions details section. See HERE for more information.

One Final Tip

Giving statements can now be accessed via the mobile app (custom or free) and can be the easiest, most efficient way to distribute them. No login account is required; simply an email address to receive the security code, and your donors can access their statements.
